I got slapped because of low quality score/poor landing page

Can someone check my website http://www.bestdoggonetraining.com, to see why I just got "slapped"?
Is the problem probably that I have affiliate links going out with only a few backlinks?

My understanding is that Google doesn't like sites that are affiliate squeeze pages, and that new sites that mimic sites already in existence will find it hard to get displayed ?? Does a crappy site that "got here first" always get better ranking??
Can we have outgoing affiliate links a pages tagged as "No Follow" to hide them from the googlebot?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Don't take offence to this ok, just trying to help you out.
Your site (to google) would just look like a big advert.
There is no real content or pages.

You need to think about offering some real good content, more pages and more value for the visitors.

Hope that helps.

troy, Thanks for your input,
I plan on more content, just wanted to get people moving to the offers ASAP - content will follow.
But my question still remains, can we "hide" affiliate offers on pages tagged with "no follow" to keep google from finding them and or slapping us?
On a similar note - do we build the main page so google likes it and make the affiliate offers on other pages?

Hi Bestdog,
You can read what Mark said about it here...
affiliate-hangout/should-my-affiliate-links-have-no-follow-tags-t5063.html

Keep in mind that using a nofollow will not stop Google from seeing the links or stop it from being manually reviewed by a human at Google.
Also, building a home page without links means nothing.
It will just decrease your chances of any sales or earnings.
Google will look at your whole site and rank each page on its own merits as well.

I think I also remember hearing somewhere that Google frowns on tactics that show its bots one thing and human visitors something else. (Can't remember where I've heard that, but I know I have.) Something else to keep in mind.

Hi Grady,
I think that refers to more deception or cloaking.
Like showing a link about one thing but directing the visitor to something totally unrelated.
Eg: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloaking

Thanks trroy for the link to makrs post.
So if I got it right - I don't do a "no follow" for a page, but I do a "no follow" for each affiliate link??

OK then, does this look right? It does track directly to the affiliate site and shows my id with out any signs of "no follow".

Hi again,
ya well it's not quite right. a couple of the last characters show up on my pages when I copy and paste the whole thing. I hate to mess with it ' cause I may make the whole thing not work.

Even if I play with it and it seems to work, how would I know for sure the google bot was not following it?

You could use seoquake or seo4firefox
They show nofollow links.
