How Do I Make A Sale?

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I am looking for some help from Clickbank affiliates. I set up a website in January 2013 in the health/ beauty/ fitness niche, it is promoting a number of e-products from Clickbank + a few other physical products from other networks. I am doing active SEO as well as using several social media platforms. I recently re-worked on my site and I think it is now pretty professional. Somehow I just haven't done any sales as yet and I am looking for advice/ ideas from fellow digital marketers who have been down this road and had better success than I am having at this point. Thanks a lot.

Hi Sharad,

Welcome to the Affilorama Forums!

There are several factors to consider if you're not converting traffic to sale: keywords, daily traffic, the content of the page users land in or frequently go to. Please post a link to your site here so that we could look at your website and provide you with feedback on how you can improve it and convert traffic to sales.

I appreciate your patience and hope to hear from you soon. All the best!

Hi Sharad,

Thanks for sharing the link to your site.

Your site looks great and it certainly has plenty of backlinks. I noticed though that the backlinks are concentrated on your homepage only. I suggest that you streamline the content on your homepage so that users will be able to easily see your site's contents instead of the products which might lead them to believe that you're only purpost in the site is to sell.

You might want to promote your blog now instead of the homepage as that is where most of your informative content is. I also recommend placing some call to action links on your blog posts and promote these posts, or the link to your blog instead of the homepage. Most of the time, users need to know more about a product before they can be persuaded to buy; That entails writing a persuasive article as well informing readers of how to solve their issues through the product you're promoting.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Hi Cecille,

Thanks very much for going thru my site. It definately helps to get the perspective of an expert like you. I am not sure what exactly you are suggesting when you say I should streamline the content on the Home Page, could you elaborate? Your comments regarding the blog are well noted, I will work on it.

For your reference, I am doing SEO with 50 keywords aimed at the main 5 e-products which are the landing pages. However, as our keywords are not yet ranking at the top, I am still getting very low traffic. Can you suggest how to increase targetted traffic to the site, I feel I now have a pretty good selling proposition if I can get the right traffic to visit the site?

Hi Sharad,

For example, you have a list of product names on the slideshow, and then a Products tab at the top. You also have ads at the top of your site, right next to the header. This can distract your visitors and possibly take them away from your site.

I suggest you move the BMI and BMR calculator down the sidebar and put the "Latest from Blog" widget up so users can see if there's anything new in your blog.

Hope that helps. Happy Holidays!

Hi Cecille,

You know, when I saw your earlier mail, the same idea came to me, of shifting the blog widget up and the calculators down. Makes a lot of sense, thanks very much for the idea. But, would you make any other changes in the product promos from how it already is? I have also recently added a Recipes section, there are very few currently because from an SEO point of view, we are updating every 2 days. Totally, we will have minimum 50 interesting recipes for healthy meals. maybe I can also add a widget called New Recipes or something. There is also a plan to introduce a section on Health Tips and when thats up, I can probably have that link alongwith a Tip of the Day added.

Lots of ideas, lots of stuff going on, but, just no conversions yet!!! I really need ideas there other than the usual online and offline SEO which I am doing.

Happy holidays, wish you a Merry X'mas and fantastic 2014 to follow.

Hi Sharad,

I wouldn't make any more tweaks as far as the product promos are concerned. I would look at my content though, particularly the content on the Blog section. These articles are the same articles I would be putting my call to action links on so they need to be able to convince users of the advantages of purchasing the products I'm promoting on my site. I would also begin link building on my blog posts as well so that they can begin to rank for their target keywords.

I also suggest having a link building strategy so you can track you link building efforts as well as to see which methods bring the best results for your site.

Hope that helps. Happy Holidays!

Hi Cecille,

Firstly, wish you a very happy and successful 2014. Just wanted to update you on the latest with my site based on your feedback. I have done a few things as below:

1. In the blog section, I am putting teasers and call to action links at the end of the articles. So far, it is done on the first 3 articles under the category Acne Relief, to be done for all articles in the next few days.
2. I am adding images to the blog posts so that it is more appealling to visitors. So far, done on the first 3 articles under Good Health Blog, will be done for all remaining articles + new articles as we add them on.
3. I have finalised the content for product review articles for our main e-products.We will add teasers and call to action links and upload them to the blog to be at the top of the relevent blog section.
4. I think your suggestion to promote the blog is an excellent one. We are shortlisting a few long tail but very targetted keywords and will make the blog the landing page. The idea is that there should be 1 keyword for each e-product that takes the visitor to the review article and another keyword for each e-product that takes the visitor to a really strong and informative article on the subject which we feel can create a positive impact on the visitor and try and convince them to make a purchase of the product from my site.
5. On the Home Page, I have shifted the Latest from Blog section to be above the calculators as you suggested. This is another superb idea, and, I thank you for the same.

By the way, I have also added more content to the recipes section.

If you can, pls see the above and give me your feedback. Once again, really grateful for your invaluable tips. Cheers.
