what is the difference b/w XML and HTML site map?
hi, I have a little confusion b/w the XML and HTML site map anyone can explain me?

 Both are related to each other and are considered markup languages. However, to define the difference, the HTML markup is used mainly for data presentation, while the XML markup is used to store and transfer data.

 An XML sitemap is specifically written for search engine spiders. A search engine spider can quickly and easily extract all the important pieces of information about your site by looking at the XML file. The HTML sitemap is for humans. It is a quick map/overview of the pages on your site which are listed using links (with anchor text).

 I do not even know how to reply. Basically all what saved in XML file from some Google console will be information about pages of your website. All of them, so it shouldn't be a problem at all with creating it. HTML one is probably a page on site with links to all other pages of your site.

 Both are the useful sitemap. I think xml sitemap is useful for bots and html sitemap is helpful for user point of view.

 Site map helps to your website pages index in Search Engines. The main difference between Xml site map and Html site map, User doesn’t understand Xml site map but search engines easily understand Xml sitemap. User understandable site map is Html site map. This is the main difference b/w Xml and Html site map.

 In XML Sitemap, all the pages of your website is submitted which allows the search engines to crawl each url.
In HTML Sitemap, the list of all pages is provided in single page useful for users to easily navigate a page they are searching for.

Both would be the most site map that is helpful. I believe for robots and site is great for user perspective XML site is beneficial.

 Both XML and HTML sitemaps help search engines crawl your site. The main difference being that an HTML sitemap helps visitors gain a complete understanding of your site, while XML more exactly provides to the search engines.  Both serve the same purpose xml are written for search engine spiders to crawl the webpages. HTML sitemap are design for the users for easy navigation of the complete website.

HTML is just simple overview of the site, just the pages and info a user needs to be considered. If you’re on a web site and you’re looking for the shopping cart or the ‘Contact Us’ page and can’t find it easily so, you’d simply go to the sitemap find it there. it helps in your *moderator removed link*search engine ranking because your site is user-friendly and providing navigation to the site visitor.

 XML sitemap is specially designed for the search engines to crawl your site and does not need to be seen by you or me, but is meant for the search engine to read about the pages in a site while HTML sitemap is designed for humans as they can clearly see it on the website as an extra web page.

 HTML was designed to display data on how data looks. whereas XML sitemaps are designed to store data as what it is. XML is primarily for the search engines navigational purpose while HTML is written for the user navigational purpose.

 The difference is that XML sitemaps are written for search engines and hypertext mark-up language sitemaps are written for humans. An XML sitemap is specifically written for search engine bots. An hypertext mark-up language sitemap allows lost human users to seek out a page on your site that they're trying to find.
