Got the Great Content - Where To Put it All?

Hi there!

OK, so I once again find myself with head spinning thanks largely to the latest events courtesy of Mr G.

This is not because of the clamp down on content. I write good content, I rewrite good content - note; rewrite - not spin thanks Fara :)

Where the hang do I put it?

There are only so many Squidoo pages and Wordpress pages that I can do (these seem to be the least hit by the changes) before they go the way of Hubpages, EZA, AC and just about every other article directory out there that relies on adsense. It is only a matter of time before other automated services like AMA, UAW and SEOLv also get hit....so where too from here?

Hi,

Personally I don't think you need to worry so much about where to put it whether it's EZA, Hubpages, etc. These authority sites are still relevant and only pages within their directories deemed spam are being devalued. Since you've got good quality content written, you should be in the clear.

Search engine land "Number Crunchers: Who Lost In Google’s “Farmer” Algorithm Change?" have listed the top sites that gained from Google's algorithm change. You might want to put your content on one of these sites:

1. Amazon.com
2. eHow.com
3. NexTag.com
4. Wikipedia.com
5. Walmart.com
6. Target.com
7. Etsy.com
8. Answers.Yahoo.com
9. Sears.com
10. bestonlinecoupons.com
11. youtube.com
12. ebay.com
13. facebook.com
14. instructables.com

I can't believe that Yahoo Answers was a winner in this change?!!!??? Not that the site doesn't offer some good content. But c'mon. More than just a little bit of the content is horrible...especially with bad answers, bad questions, or lots of good questions with no answers.

All the article directories such as ezine to a big hit. I wonder if the value of links from them were lessened as a result of there lower standing?

But it's about the user experience, I would venture a guess that the majority of Answers users are people are getting mostly honest answers to their questions. Same with ebay and the rest, people are finding useful sites when they make their search query.

The user experience of EZA and Hubpages is awful

How eHow stayed up there is a bit of a mystery though!

@J.C.Dean
I'd be surprised if they had much value anyway. There were so many outgoing links from every article page I'm not entirely sure that they were that valuable.

The articles tended to get ranked quickly so they got traffic, if they have lost this ranking ability - which is effectively what has happened - where to for them?

Ehow is no longer a viable option for internet marketers like it used to be. The switch to demand studios made intolerable changes for authors.

I still make enough off the site from the old writer's compensation package to pay for my web hosting and ama membership. Hope it lasts.

On eHow not everyone can submit any article that they want. They hire writers based on merit, skills and expertise and only those who are hired can submit articles for publication. So eHow has more control over content quality.

Very interesting information. It seems to me that the days of spinning and re-writing are coming to an end. It is simply creating duplicate content, with strategies to avoid detection.

There is one exception, though. The same information, say about online lead generation, can be of interest to a number of different audiences, such as people in different MLM companies. Then it is better for conversion and useful for the audience to re-write several versions of the article, with some changes the match the specific audience. In that case, you are not dumping several versions of the same content on the same audience, but you are reaching different audiences.

Unfortunately, you may still be facing duplicate content penalties, although targeting different market segments. I think the whole duplicate content discussion needs to address market segmentation.
