Create an affiliate site by Weebly?

I know people say WordPress is the only choice for building an affiliate site with contents, however I am more familiar with Weebly then WordPress, so is there any reason I should use WordPress instead of Weebly for creating my site?

 We recommend Wordpress for many reasons. Among the many reasons, Wordpress is newbie-friendly, SEO-friendly and you can add a lot of free plugins to your website. But you may always choose a website platform that you are most comfortable with.

 If I use wordpress, is it a good idea to host it in wordpress.com instead of self-hosted like in bluehost or in affilorama?
The reason why I am asking is that I "think" there will be security concern for self-hosted sites as I have to maintain my site myself, such as the site backup, recovering from hacker attack, etc.... I am not sure if it's true.

 There is really not much of a difference when it comes to hosting and security since hosting companies offer security and customer support for their members. You can also install additional security plugin on your WP site if you really feel you need more security for your website.

 Thanks Mary, so you recommend "self hosted" or just creat the website on Wordpress.com directly?For whatever reason.

 We recommend you use the paid hosting (self-hosting) service for your website since you have more control over your content.

There is no assurance with free hosting sites when it comes to your content as your content can be taken down anytime (especially the free sites in Wordpress, which do not allow affiliate marketing websites). You are also limited of the certain features when it comes to building your website.
