MSN Adcentre- where have all my impressions gone?

I have been using MSN adcentre for the last couple of weeks, and although I was getting a good number of impressions initially, I have noticed that the last couple of days, as I am adding more campaigns, the number of impressions I have had has gone to virtually zero.

I don't know why this is the case, as I thought the number of impressions was simply a figure of how many people are searching for the keyword. But there is no way that given the number of campaigns I have running, that no one is searching for the keywords. So Bing is up to something :-)

My quality score was running at around 9 to 10 (out of 10), but NOW I am noticing that I am running at 1 or 2 quality score max, out of a possible 10. Could this be the reason for the low impressions?

What is the best way to get quality score up?

I am linking my adds to sales pages, review pages and squeeze pages.

Would really appreciate your thoughts..

Hi Duraid,

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you contacted MSN Adcenter regarding the issue? Although it is dated, you might find the following article helpful: Missing Impressions

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Hi Cecille,

I have contacted them yes, and I am awaiting to hear back from them. As soon as I do, I will report back.

But I have been speaking to someone else, and they have told me that they think it has a lot to do with my quality score. Apparently MSN adcentre dont like websites that are in the format of a sales page. So most likely I have been tagged with a low quality score by the system, and all my ads for all my campaigns have suffered.

I will update once I know more. Not sure if there is a way out of this, aside from starting a completely new campaign.

Some of the factors that affect your quality scores are:

Keyword relevance
Landing page relevance
Landing page user experience

Thanks Michelle,

They have just come back to me, here are some of the issues they pointed out:

- One site did not have a privacy policy - this has now been added to the bottom of every page.
- One site has claims that were too far fetched- this was my management ebook - where I had 'Give me 5 minutes and I will turn you into a top manager' as the heading. This has now been changed.
- One site had an exit pop up when customer tries to exit - they dont like this either.

So basically they put my account on 'hold' until these issues were resolved. Now I have to wait till I review my account again.

Will keep you posted. Hope this will be helpful information for others to learn from..

Thanks for the update, Duraid. I was not aware that not having a privacy policy can affect your quality score. And I'm surprised that an exit pop up is frowned upon by MSN. Thanks for sharing this information and updating your thread. :)
