Why You Should Take Care Of Your Online Reputation

It's quite obvious that business that sells any kind of services or products , also have to deal with negative reviews online. It's sad that these bad reviews easily come up in search engine results and harm any business' online reputation. So it is very important that you can keep an eye on such every activity that is linked in building your business online reputation.

Users who are making any kind of purchase will first see reviews about that service or product and then further decide on making a purchase. Popular review websites like complaints board, ripoff report, leasing news are very quick to appear in search results, so it's important to remove negative links online and fix them on time otherwise it can create a problem for your business sales and revenues.

Sometimes, online businesses avoid such type of bad links which is not good and that can create a serious problem in terms of expanding your business, online deals, sales, customers. As your business is settled and with this, your competitors list also increases who always try to spoil your business with such type of bad activities. So, do not let your competitors to make a negative impact of your business.

First, it is important to determine when a complaint is legitimate and address that as quickly as possible. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes so don't just jump to the conclusion that someone is bad mouthing you, your porduct or service out of spite.
Of course, there are those people online who are mean spirited and get a kick out of posting negative comments with no regard for the harm it does.
You should remove those as quickly as you can and balance that with getting and posting real testimonials for your blog or website.

Absolutely correct. Many online businesses avoid looking into these at first, just because it can really drag you down. But if your customer has a genuine issue that needs to be dealt with, you'll only get further negative comments if you decide not to at least TRY to deal with it. There will always be those out there that will try to get your product or service for nothing and then still bad mouth you, even if they do. I've found many negative comments actually happen because of mis-communication or delayed communication rather than an actual problem with the product/service. If a communication lapse is the issue, avoiding it could be catastrophic, whereas confronting it in a timely way, head on, could make all the difference in the world.

ORM is really a good option to fight with those bad negative links on search engines. Having negative comments about business online doe not only decrease your sales, it also lowers down your business value online. If you are having an online presence then you should always keep an eye on your backlinks and reviews.

I've read horror stories where a customer complaint on a site like Yelp would actually rank higher than a person's own website for their keyword or brand/domain. Google gives a lot of weight to customer reviews.

Agree with zoe.j.summers that Google gives lot of importance to reviews. If any of your customer has added wrong reviews on website like yelp, ripoff etc then it will surely come up in search results that creates a bad impact on other users or customers.
You have to keep a check on results that comes up on search engines with your brand or individual name.
