Website Evaluation

Hi guys

I have a Web site named Http://www.EyeMovementDesensitizationAn ... essing.com. I would love the affilorama community to assist me in evaluating this Web site with respect to further monetization techniques. I abandoned the site a long time ago because I was serving in the military and did not have enough time to continue monetizing it.

Now that I am retired, I would love to hear your opinion on what I should change, or add to the Web site to keep monetizing it.

 I think you should consider changing your theme to a more modern layout. You also need to better organize your navigation.

Your ads are not staying within the layout. Perhaps the ads are the wrong size? Also I don't think the ads are relevant to your target audience. I doubt if you have enough traffic to make AdSense worth your time.

Don't focus on monetizing your site. You need traffic first.

 Thanks Keith. I would take your advice and act upon it. According to AwStats, I receive an average of 1200 unique visitors per month since I reactivated the site, I thought that was enough to start monetizing.

 You can start monetizing at any point. I don't think AdSense is a good choice at this point. The ads on your site have nothing to do with the content of your blog. I did a quick search on ClickBank and found quite a few suitable affiliate products for your blog.

The first post on your blog is about anxiety disorders. At the end of this post add a few more paragraphs and discuss how one of the ClickBank products may help to cure their anxiety. It's a lot easier to monetize existing content.

 I liked the "Shyness and Social Anxiety System- New Vs". It has an average sale of $96.73 and a rebilll of $93.51. The link sends the visitor to a LeadPages video landing page. That makes me believe that the author may know what he is doing.

If you are an Amazon affiliate, link to a good anxiety book in Amazon. Keep in mind you are not trying to earn a few cents if someone buys the book. Your objective is to set a cookie. You will receive a commission from anything that visitor purchases in the next 24 hours.

 I think the post and site look much better. It appears that AdSense also understands your content better. When I visited the site the ad just above the content was for herbal teas that reduce anxiety.

The longer content also allowed you to use your keywords more often. Great job.

Do you have Yoast SEO plugin installed? You may want to take a look at it. It's free and will help you understand how Google and other search engines see your posts.

You can check your website monetary value with Website Hoarder(http://www.websitehoarder.com/) which is a free website evaluation tool to check website dollar value. Also, it suggests you some ideas for the betterment of the website. Those suggestions are good to increase website value and worth.

 Your link is not working for me, so maybe it's down right now.

Without being able to see your site, I can't determine what help you might need.

However, there are some generic things you can do to revamp your site.

Get out onto social networks such as Pinterest and Facebook and get active with your fans. These are the people who will want to see your site or product and will be happy to share images and posts from your site.

You should always be adding new articles, infographics and content to your site, at least once a week.

This new content will help you rank better.

As for backlinks, you don't need many, just a few very good/high authority backlinks from reputable sites that have good credibility with Google.
