Trying To Determine Which Title To Use For An Article

Hello Members!

I need some clarification on keywords. Could I use the title for my article "Stop Dog From Barking-Five Tips Dog Owners Should Know" even though the keyword word phrase I will be targeting is "Stop Dog From Barking". Will the search engines know that I am targeting this phrase or do I need to use ONLY the keyword phrase as the title to my article, like "Stop Dog From Barking".

I am planning on writing an article targeting the keyword phrase "Stop Dog From Barking" and using this keyword phrase through out the article at least one percent of the time as well however I need to know that if I used this keyword phrase through out the article if I had to use ONLY the keyword phrase as my title for my article or if I could use a title like, "Stop Dog From Barking-Five Tips Dog Owners Should Know". I need to know which way is best for optimizing my article for the search engines for them to deem my article as highly relevant for my keyword phrase. Any advice is greatly appreciated and I hope that this question is not all that confusing. Sometimes it's hard to put your questions in writing.

Thanks
Chestina

hi chestina ... its a good question - you can start to stress that the search engines will only detect your site if you have the phrase exact but you neednt worry, they usually look at all the words in context so you can have your content (including your title) sounding natural while still targeting your phrase

theres a similar point asked in this post

btw if youre looking for some great headlines, try using the bullet point generator to get some ideas!

Jason,

Thanks for the reply! I was stressing just a bit. I completely forgot about the premium members tools. I did check it out and they do have some great headlines for articles. Thanks again!

Dear Chestina,

in addition to what Jason said, also take following general rules into consideration:

- Do not repeat keywords more than twice in the title

- Do not forget to make the title attractive and action(click)-pulling for us humans. Search engines never buy anything.

And again, write the article for the writer and not for the search engines. A well written article has quite a good chance of getting picked up and posted on other sites.
