Help with my niche idea

I am new to affiliate marketing and have a basic knowledge of the blueprint to success and basicly could have my site up in 2 days, but there is one thing that is very imporant to me that i need allot of feed back on before i step forward. This desperately needs to be addressed.
I have had an idea for a website for a year now and i have a vision in my head about how everything is going to look.
It is a website but more of like a lifestyle targeted site. I meen like its targeted to street and hiphop lifestyle/culture and taste, and is also more geared twards women.
The Content of this site will focus on some natural, hair and skin care, and also 'dnt even hav to think about it' healthy eating which may include recipies and some leaked diet tricks for weight management. Also i am going to include some exercise that is engaging with my audience which will b made up of some hiphop sexy dance routines that make u feel sexy while ur shaping ur body.
I also may want to
include some clothing in a small amount. My site is all about making women feel sexy, and esteem and self worth.
If this post seems too long and wordy, im sorry. I am not the best writer but this is how much passion i have behind it. I am not willing to compromise my theme on my facebook account as i allready have many friends who all respond well to my memes and know of me that way. I am interested in focusing on facebook and creating a PAGE.
My thing is, im not sure what Niche i should pin my website as. Perhaps Health and Beauty? But again, seems to broad. Do u think my website idea is targeted enough? Or do i need to be more specific?
Like i said,im on all of the topics listed in this post. But, my main over all Theme is targeted to Street/Hiphop culture/lifestyle, and women.
This is such a long post; if u'd like me to expand on it or ask a question, please do. But i really need some feedback on whats holding me back on launching the site.

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us. I can see that you are really excited about this, which is a good thing. Based on the things that you said, you are aiming for a lifetime magazine-blog type of website. This is a good idea, however, it may be hard to execute this website since you are talking of a large content-based website. I am not discouraging you but as a beginner, this kind of website can be overwhelming but definitely not an impossible task. You should be prepared to do a lot of work, spend a lot of time, and also prepare yourself to spend money.

Thank you. Everything you are saying, i understand. Most educational resources ive used to learn about affiliate marketing, state that the website content should only be about one thing. But i stumbled apon an article that made a reference to a person their particular website having great success with mire of a broader range of affiliate products, but the Catch with this website as it stated in the article, was that this website is what they called a Lifestyle website that focused on lifestyle. I was just thinking that my website would fall into this category.
What most affiliate training is telling me tho, is that the content should be more focused on one thing. I am thinking that adding clothing to this, at this point in time, would b too much, and i should just focus the website on health and beauty.
I feel like i have read everything under the sun that tells me how togo about creating niche sites. Im just on here looking for some human feedback. If i cut the clothing out of the website and focus on the other things i mentioned.. i dont know. Mabie im wrong but is my site too broad? or have i zeroed in enough?

Hey, brieanne your idea is awesome and I think you will get nice feedback from everywhere. This is a good thing and in today time everyone is so busy and no one taking care of their health and body. And your site is about all of these things so, I think everyone likes that. Best of luck!!

Thank you for all the feedback.
What is hurting me is that i dont want to compromise my facebook page. i only have enough money for One website, so therefore it has to match my facebook page. I dont want to b all over the place when just starting out with affiliate marketing, so i need to zero in..
Please, any comments?

Hi Brie,

It sounds like you are still weighing on what topic/s you should pick for your website. What I would suggest to you is: to list down all your preferred topics, each one of them. And then arrange the topics from the most preferred ones to the least. Choose your top three topics. Do a research for each of these three topics and then decide which one you think suits you best. Just one, pick one topic. Then once that is done, you can list down all possible sub-topics that you can feature on your website. This way, you can focus well on which ones you will promote.

As for your Facebook page, you do not have to base the topic to your existing page. You can actually make another page in Facebook under your existing account. I have one account and a lot of Facebook pages. You can also do the same :)

Well I already have my 3 topics. Natural hair/skin care, healthy recipies for weight managment, and exercise. These are all under the health a
nd beauty niche. How far should i really be zooming in before my audience gets too small?
Reminder: the whole site is to be geared twards women into street/hiphop culture

Good thing that you are getting more focused at the niches. Although they are still a bit broad, I think for these niches, you can go ahead and start with them. Also, for your target market, were you able to do a research if there's a good number of street/hiphop women market online? Are they good buyers as well? Have you seen example websites that are also similar to what you are planning to do? These are all important as well because no matter how good your niches and ideas are, you still have to consider the buying market, if you there is a market for your chosen niche.

Hey, Brieann

I think the most important aspects of choosing a niche comes in three:

1. Choose an evergreen niche
a. meaning a niche that isn't seasonal; something that will continually have problems that need to be solved.

2. Choose something that you have somewhat of a passion for. When creating content if you aren't outsourcing it would be best to be able to write something that you are knowledgeable and actually enjoy writing about.

If creating content becomes a chore it can really show to your audience, in the end, you definitely don't want to ruin your authority this way.

3. Once you have narrowed down what you niche you want to work with you should do some research.

This can be accomplished this visiting a few affiliate networks and finding what niche related products or services that affiliates are already making a lot of sales in. On click back that's searching by gravity.

You can then check out the products and the webpages that are making the most promoting them on similarweb.com

Click live demo
Then enter the web address of the affiliate product or service.
It will list the top five sites that earn selling the product. Which you can mimic for your site.

I think no mater the niche you choose you need to do the research to see if you can make something of it. Sometimes things seem like obvious winners that go nowhere and other times we may look at something and think who in the world would buy that and it sells a ton. One of Makes sites that he talked about a long time ago was a site about Chinese fighting fish or something like that, he said he made like 3 grand a month and I was thinking who in the world would want to by Chinese fighting fish but there are a lot of people who do. That doesn't mean every oddball think someone can think of will sell but is still makes sense to do the research to help figure how to promote what you wan to sell to make it desirable to many people.

I tend to agree with Maryt on this one. Just brainstorm choosing the most important topics to the least important and take it from there. I was in a similar situation.I wanted to start on a blog on the forex trade. But I realized that there were so many aspects to the forex trade that I found it overwhelming.
So I narrowed it down to the the educational side of the forex industry. Because I felt I could be more effective in that area.
Hope that helps.
