How to be an affiliate of online summits

Hi everyone,

If I was interested in being an affiliate of free online summits and the links were available by my email/website-
What if the person takes advantage of the limited free listening/watching time of the free summit but only later decides to buy it - without returning to your original affiliate link?

If I wanted to be an affiliate of an online summit that doesn't have affiliate material - what wording advice could you give me on what to include when contacting them to be an affiliate of theirs?

I'm not an affiliate yet - total newbie, so would appreciate as much advice as possible.

It really depends on the website you are becoming an affiliate for.
Usually if someone uses an affiliate link from your website, a cookie will be placed on the visitors website. This cookie has a timer and when the timer goes to 0, the cookie will be deleted.
If one person clicks on an affiliate link, he has time to buy until the cookie expires if you want to receive the commission. (he doesn`t have to buy the first time he clicks on your affiliate link)
For example, Amazon Affiliates has a lifetime of it`s cookie of 24 hours. The company that I`m working for has a lifetime of the cookie of 180 days. (it really depends on the company)

 I agree with hcfgrizzly. Every affiliate company has its own tracking/cookie terms. It is best to contact the vendor directly to know how long the cookie will be saved for each of your referral.

You can't be an affiliate if an online summit if that event does not have an affiliate program.

And if the online summit does have an affiliate program, then it is highly unlikely that they will not have any affiliate material. They'd have banners their affiliates can use at the very least.

But if you're talking about needing additional affiliate material, then you need to contact the summit leaders (or whoever is in charge of their affiliate program) and let them know.

I like your idea but I would like to suggest something like this and also I welcome comments from everybody in the forum, because I am a newbie. The idea is what if we create a website for viewing movie reviews and the affiliate links are put for those interested to buy to get them...

This is exactly how we market the products on the website. You need to promote the affiliate links within your website pages like in your articles and videos, and squeeze page.

 If you become an affiliate you get a link through which people visit the site. Most affiliate programs place cookies in a visitor computer and even if next time this person does not use your link to view the site, you still get the commission.
