How to create content to promote product I don't use?

Maybe this question is stupid, but how exactly I can create contents(articles, videos) to promote any product I don't buy it? How to make sure it's something I and my audience can trust?
Or I'd better to buy and try the products ?
Thanks.

Hi Billy,

You do not have to create articles about the product. What you can do is to provide them with good information that is related and relevant to the product/s you are promoting.

Like for example, this post: https://www.affilorama.com/blog/affilia ... t-building

The post is not about the product but you'll notice that we have links to the products that we are promoting within the article.

Also, if you like to do a review of the product, you can do that without buying. Just contact the vendor and request them the content or information that you need. Most of the time, vendors can provide you with promotional materials that you can use for your website.

Hi Mary,

Very helpful advice.
However, in case the vendor doesn't provide the information needed to create the review of the product for any reason, I guess there's no way to really write a review for it, am I right?

In case you are not supplied with enough information to do your product review then you have the internet to search for product reviews and you can just rewrite the content for your website.

Very interesting topic. I have a question though - it is regarding to product reviews - by going to the website and search for product reviews and rewrite the content on your website. Does that not gonna negatively affect your SEO rankings? Is not going to be regarded as content duplicate or plagiarism?

I have heard about "content curation" strategy but I still don't understand the best approach for the strategy. Please advise.

If you are going to plainly copy/paste the articles from another website- that will be a case of duplicate content, which may also result in copyright issues unless you properly cite the source. That is why we recommend members to write their own content. You can use the existing articles to do this.

Content curation is fine as long as it's properly done. You may refer to this article here to learn more about content curation and SEO: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/gui ... seo/80773/

This is usually a combination of talent and experience. But you can read (how-to) articles on good content writing. (I recommend this site if you want to learn how to write: http://www.copyblogger.com/blog/)

Also, let me just explain further several things I've explained above.
“In case you are not supplied with enough information to do your product review then you have the internet to search for product reviews and you can just rewrite the content for your website.”

“That is why we recommend members to write their own content. You can use the existing articles to do this. “

What I wanted to say is if you are using existing articles for your content, you only use this for research or for reference on what others have to say about the product.

You also need to properly cite your sources IF in case you use part of the content for your article. (Good read on how to do proper citation here: http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307 ... e-Web.aspx)

For this, you have to create fresh and updated content according to your product. You have to share best and relevant information with the customer. So, that they know about your product.
