Can I use images from Instagram?

Hi

what are the rules about using other peoples image son instagram( form instagrams point of view) if you get permission from the owner of the image?…do you just need to acknowledge the source.. i.e. without being penalised in any way ?

 Hi Chantelle,

Instagram photos are all copyrighted. You need to ask the owner's permission if you are going to use his/her photo.

May I ask why you need to get your photos on Instagram when there are a lot of royalty-ree sites like Shutterstock and Fotolia for example?

Hi there! The SOP on this matter is you must ask the permission of the owner if he/she will allow his/her messages to be used in your site. Do not display the photo unless you already have a go signal from the owner. You should be ready to spend money as some might ask you to pay a fee for royalties and stuff. Once all is set, you can now post the image and give proper credit to the owner upon posting...

Of course if you wanna save yourself from all the hassle, you can always go to websites like shutterstock and open an account there.:)

Other than that, you can create your own photos and use it anytime you want...:)

 If you can't afford good looking stock images, you can always use creative commons from sites such as Pixabay..

You don't need to (and mustn't) use copyrighted pictures for your promotions

 Off-course, you can use the other people's images on Instagram but you have to take permission first from the user's.
Well, there are too many free picture websites from which you can download the pictures.

 Yup, just most people will never give you any permission... Imagine someone using your own photo for commercial purposes and one day you see yourself on a website..

There is another site which allows to use their pictures and many of them already have a permission of commercial use - DeviantArt
