Amazon S3 & Camtasia Videos

Hello Members,

I just recently created a video using Camtasia. I uploaded my files to Amazon S3 and for some strange reason when I open the page with the video its not displaying properly?

The video is missing the controls at the bottom! Does anyone have some knowledge with Amazon S3 & Camtasia??? I would greatly appreciate some help!

Hey Ricardo,

If you are missing the controls I'd guess you are loading the video file (e.g. the .mp4) directly and not the html file that Camtasia produces.

Make sure you have uploaded all the files Camtasia produces when you create your final video.

Also, you need to make sure that the permissions in S3 allows everyone to Open/Download the .html file

If you open the .html file it will load the player controls, video etc

Hope that solves it.

Regards

Hey Ricardo,

I think the problem is that not all of the files in your S3 folder have the permission Open/Download set for Everyone

When I click your link I too get the message about needing to install Flash etc. When I looked in the source code of the page I can see that two Javascript files are being referenced right at the top, but I can't open them. These files are called dubturbo1.js and swfobject.js

When the html page loads it tries to load these javascript files which in tun load other files. If the person viewing the vid doesn't have permission to view all of these you'll get errors.

Make sure every file in your S3 folder has the permission for Everyone to Open/Download it.

Cheers

no probs Ricardo :)

Beyond hacking through the HTML code produced by Camtasia I'm not sure there is an easy way to embed the video in another web page. I'll have a look at this.

I'm working on using a Lightbox effect for my videos so that when someone clicks on a link it 'pops up' in a separate box and the background of the page dims to grey. You've maybe seen this effect on other sites. Actually Affilorama uses it when you see the pop-over enticing you to join the Premium Membership plan.

Let me get back to you with some code on this, I'm looking at a few different options for this.

Cheers

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the feedback! I have seen the lightbox effect and it's pretty Kool how it's being used. In the near future I would like to use it as well. Thanks
