Do you use Web 2.0 to rank your website?

When you create Web 2.0, do you add an anchor text with your KW that you're trying to rank for or do you send them directly to your website by saying "Click Here" or visit "site url"

Reason I'm asking is because I've heard that ranking for your exact KW via anchor text using Web 2.0 is not a good idea! Would love to hear how your thoughts! Thanks!

Web 2.0 blogs are very powerful in generating unique backlinks, and boost your search engine ranking as most of the web 2.0 site's domain have huge authority and weight.

 Web 2.0 sites can still be a good source for backlinks but you will need to do things differently. You need to practice building backinks in moderation and of course, no spamming. This is a good strategy for web 2.0 sites.

It won't be considered gray hat if you prioritize content over SEO. You can still use web 2.0 sites to promote your website or business but using quality content and not for SEO purposes only.

 I respectfully disagree. Web 2.0 sites dont add much value these days. This is an outdated strategy from a link building perspective. It may be good to get traffic, but you won't get much link equity. Google is too smart, and will essentially devalue these types of links. Link building is really about getting links that are not easily created by you (they are added by other webmasters).

 Web 2.0 allows the user to interact & share information online. You can create an account or profile, comment & interact. These activities are important as it gives you the ability to publish your content & create backlinks on it. Also, it generates its own traffic.
