I am not sure if I really understand you for that matter ? Blog for social media ? Social media have their own blogs and various platforms for everything you may want to, why to have something else ? Just promote each channel separately really.

I would say that those active sites are social media – and probably have writers and editors WHO are engaged in those communities.
