How does video marketing help affiliates?

I have never tried video marketing. Hence I need the suggestions of marketers that have tried it before. I mean YouTube video marketing to mention one of the most popular ones. Does video marketing produce the desired results? Any tutorial available that teaches you the making of marketing videos?

I think YouTube is the better way for video marketing. I do not understand about your "Tutorial Video". What do you mean here ?

I haven't done video marketing yet either, but I've looked into it a little. You can just go to Youtube and search things like video marketing, Youtube marketing, video marketing tutorial, etc.

This guy has a channel called "sold with video" on Youtube - I got a lot of good tips from his tutorial videos.

Also, I recently heard about a site called Udemy that has online courses. Some courses you have to pay for and others are free. I'm pretty sure they have some video marketing courses on there as well, but I'm not sure if any of them are free.

Video marketing is not always suitable for affiliates. The best revenue I've seen was from the product reviews with affiliate links in descriptions. Again, that pretty much depends on what you are going to promote.

Video marketing can be successful, but it will take research. Especially in niches that have a lot of competition (weight loss, ie.) there may be plenty of products & it might be easy to make a video regarding this niche, but that doesn't mean that you should spend your time there if it's already been done by a number of other people. Most likely you won't gain customers through it. Finding new angles to break into over-done niches will be much more time consuming than using tried and true strategies and applying them to new niches in a creative way. Good luck on your video venture!

The ad just has to be made by a "youtube partner", in answer to your first question. I do not have experience with jwplayer & brid.tv. I've stuck with youtube because of their reach, but I have heard of other, smaller & newer video sites that are starting to trend. It might very well be worth the research you put into it. Let us know if you find something you're happy with!

With video marketing on Youtube, you have the chance to share your own personal experience with a product or service. Unlike a written review which can seem sales-oriented or spammy or even fake, a video review will allow you to show your real personality and share your enthusiasm for that product. You will have the opportunity to talk to the person watching the video and let them know why they should be using that product or service as well as the good and bad points of it. Most people will respond better to a person who is enthusiastic about something, rather than a boring text review. In this way, the video marketing benefits the affiliate as it helps them soften up a potential customer before sending that person to a sales page.

This reminded me of the nice read about engagement and videos

However I'm worried on production side costs etc...it's something I haven't done jet.

Start where you are, using the camera equipment that you have already, even if that's just a cheap webcam. The most important thing to do is just make a video. The more videos you create, the better you will become at it. Just ask any of the big named Youtube channel owners and they will say the same thing, how they started from almost nothing.

You could even use a simple screen capture tool with audio enabled to create professional looking videos.

If you prefer something less personal and more polished, you might hire someone to produce a video on your behalf. You could hire this done easily via one of the service sites. It might cost more, but you will be assured of professional looking results.
