It's a tricky question though. I think it depends on the types of business you're running (B2B, B2C, or both), what your target audience is, and your overall goal.
In general, social media platforms that work for large businesses will also work for small ones, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest.
As a small business, you should stick with a few platforms at a time. And facebook would be my first recommendation. You can choose from many options like professional business pages, paid post promotion, and native advertising.
